Remote Cardiac Monitoring Programs Have Potential, But They’re Still Falling Short
Remote cardiac monitoring (RCM) reduces in-person visits, decreases the time to diagnose clinical events, and increases the probability of patient survival; yet, Vector’s recent report revealed that not all clinicians are taking advantage of remote monitoring tools.
Vector surveyed cardiologists, cardiac device technicians, nurses, and other cardiology practice staff regarding their use of RCM solutions. The report found that taking a patient-centric approach to RCM improved clinical and financial outcomes. However, half of the physician respondents said that only 20% or less of their heart disease patients are connected consistently – indicating missed opportunities.
