Reimbursement & billing resources

Accurate and timely billing is critical for the success of a cardiac device clinic. A high capture rate for professional and technical fees protects the profitability of remote monitoring for cardiac device clinics by ensuring all services clinicians are providing are properly covered.

Leverage these resources and share them with billing teams to support reimbursement practices for remote cardiac device and physiological monitoring services.

Overview of the Medicare payment process:

  1. Physician documentation in patient medical record
  2. Transfer of information to billing/coding department
  3. Selection of appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes
  4. Electronic submission of claim to corresponding Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) in hospital’s locality
  5. Medicare reviews claim for validity and medical necessity
  6. Payment sent from MAC to hospital and/or physician
